Water for Elephants

Twenty-three-year-old Jacob Jankowski is a veterinary student at Cornell University, preparing for his final exams, when he learns that his parents have died in a car accident. With his world turned upside down, he drops out of school and joins a traveling circus train. When the circus owner discovers that Jacob is a vet student, he puts him in charge of the animals. The hardest one to train is Rosie, a rebellious elephant, but Jacob quickly forms a warm bond with her and finds a way to reach her. Meanwhile, his relationship with August, the circus’s harsh head trainer, and his wife Marlena stays distant. Still, what keeps Jacob there may be Marlena herself, a beautiful and gifted horse rider.
