Django Unchained

In Django Unchained, Quentin Tarantino puts his unmistakable stamp on the western genre with a tale of freedom and revenge. Django's fate takes a turn the day he crosses paths with Dr. King Schultz, a German-born bounty hunter. As the only man able to identify the wanted Brittle brothers, Django receives a tempting offer from Schultz: help track them down and earn his freedom in return. The mission succeeds, yet the partnership doesn't end there - the two press on together, hunting the most notorious outlaws of the South. Sharpening his skills with every job, Django holds on to a single purpose: to find and rescue his wife Broomhilda, torn from him by the slave trade. The search leads them to the infamous Candyland plantation and face to face with its owner, Calvin Candie, a man as charming as he is dangerous. Starring Jamie Foxx and Christoph Waltz, the film also features unforgettable turns from Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington, and Samuel L. Jackson. Winning Oscars for Best Supporting Actor for Waltz and Best Original Screenplay for Tarantino, the picture stands as a cult favorite that fuses the spaghetti western tradition with modern filmmaking.
