Based on the true story of mountaineer Aron Ralston, the film follows a young adventurer whose journey through the remote canyons near Utah takes a terrifying turn. Aron becomes trapped beneath a massive boulder, leaving him completely isolated with only a limited supply of food and water. With no immediate hope of rescue, he must find a way to survive and escape his desperate situation. Aron begins recording his experiences with a video camera, using it as a way to cope with the loneliness and fear surrounding him. As his strength fades, he reflects on his life, particularly his relationship with his parents and the things he never managed to tell them. Dehydration, exhaustion and isolation gradually take their toll, causing him to experience vivid hallucinations. Trapped with nowhere to go, Aron is forced to push himself beyond every physical and emotional limit in a desperate fight for survival.
