The Intouchables

Based on a true story, The Intouchables chronicles the extraordinary friendship that blossoms when the paths of two completely opposite men cross. Philippe, a wealthy businessman from an aristocratic family, falls victim to his passion for paragliding; after a devastating accident, he is left paralyzed from the neck down and confined to a wheelchair. Driss, a young man from the suburbs who is fresh out of prison and looking for work, comes from an entirely different world. While searching for a live-in caregiver to look after him around the clock, Philippe makes an unexpected choice and hires Driss - a decision that opens a brand-new chapter in both their lives. Though they would never have crossed paths under ordinary circumstances, the two gradually teach each other joy and courage, rediscovering what it means to embrace life. Written and directed by Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano, and starring François Cluzet alongside Omar Sy, the film explores how class and cultural divides melt away in the face of genuine friendship, moving effortlessly between humor and heartfelt drama. A box-office phenomenon in France, it went on to win the hearts of millions around the world.
