Cast Away

Tom Hanks stars as Chuck Noland, a FedEx systems engineer who lives both his professional and personal life by the ticking of the clock. Driven by ambition, Chuck has devoted himself entirely to his career, planning every day down to the last detail in the belief that maximum control leads to maximum success. But while he can handle any problem at work, his personal life doesn't run nearly as smoothly. His demanding schedule leaves him little time for Kelly, his longtime girlfriend, played by Oscar winner Helen Hunt. Chuck's hectic, clock-driven existence comes to an abrupt end when a plane crash leaves him stranded on a remote, deserted island. Cut off from every modern comfort and with no one to talk to, he begins a daily struggle for survival that slowly transforms him both physically and emotionally. Far from the pressures and distractions of everyday life, Chuck's view of success, and of himself, changes in ways he never could have imagined.
