The Green Mile

The Green Mile follows Paul Edgecomb, a prison officer responsible for escorting death-row inmates through their final days, and John Coffey, an extraordinary prisoner whose arrival changes everything. After years of working on the prison’s death row and witnessing countless executions, Paul believes he has become accustomed to the harsh realities of his job. That begins to change when Coffey arrives. Convicted of murdering two young girls, Coffey looks intimidating because of his enormous size, yet beneath his frightening appearance is a gentle, innocent, and deeply compassionate man. As Paul spends more time with him, he discovers that Coffey possesses mysterious abilities that seem to defy explanation. These extraordinary powers begin to cast doubt on the circumstances surrounding the crime and reveal unexpected truths about the prisoner. Set within the confines of death row, The Green Mile is a moving story about justice, compassion, guilt, and the mysteries of the human spirit.
