Black Swan

Nina is a talented young ballerina who has devoted nearly every part of her life to dance. Living in New York with her former-ballerina mother, who has always pushed her to succeed, Nina sees ballet as the center of her world. When artistic director Thomas Leroy decides to replace the lead dancer in his new production of Swan Lake, Nina is given an opportunity that could transform her career. Leroy needs a dancer capable of portraying both sides of the story: the innocent and graceful White Swan and the seductive, mysterious, and darker Black Swan. Nina seems almost perfect for the White Swan, but she struggles to unleash the darker side required for the second role. Her biggest competition comes from Lily, a confident and talented ballerina whose natural ability to embody the Black Swan makes her a serious rival. As rehearsals continue, the rivalry between Nina and Lily develops into an unexpected and complicated connection. Determined to prove that she can become the perfect dancer, Nina begins pushing herself beyond her limits. Her obsession with perfection gradually forces her to confront the darker side of herself, blurring the line between ambition, fear, desire, and reality.
