A Good Year

Max Skinner is a successful investment consultant living in London when he travels to Provence after inheriting a vineyard from his uncle. His plan is simple: sell the property as quickly as possible and return to his carefully organized life in the city. But things take an unexpected turn once he arrives in the picturesque French countryside. Max’s plans become even more complicated when an American woman appears and claims that the vineyard actually belongs to her. Although her presence initially becomes a major source of frustration, Max gradually finds himself drawn into the relaxed atmosphere of Provence and the life surrounding the vineyard. What begins as a simple business deal eventually turns into an unexpected journey that allows him to rediscover the pleasures of life and experience some of his happiest days. Adapted from Peter Mayle’s novel, the film reunites director Ridley Scott with Russell Crowe following their collaboration on Gladiator.
