War for the Planet of the Apes

War for the Planet of the Apes picks up right where its predecessor, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, left off. Having suffered devastating losses among his kind due to Koba's betrayal, Caesar knows that humanity will never forgive what happened, and he prepares for an unavoidable conflict. Although Caesar genuinely desires peace, he faces a ruthless Colonel who has made a name for himself through cruelty and is determined to wipe out the ape species entirely. Despite everything he has lost, Caesar refuses to bow down to this tyranny. Now the fate of both species hinges on the outcome of this final confrontation. The third installment in the franchise - which was rebooted in 2011 with Rise of the Planet of the Apes and continued in 2014 with Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - is once again directed by Matt Reeves, who co-wrote the screenplay with Mark Bomback, returning from the second film. The cast is led by Andy Serkis, joined by Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, Terry Notary and Karin Konoval.
