The Rock

General Hummel is one of the most respected officers in the U.S. military, but for years he led covert missions that never appeared in any official record, and many of his men died in them. When the government refuses to acknowledge those deaths, Hummel decides to force its hand. He and his loyal soldiers seize a stockpile of rockets loaded with deadly nerve gas and take over Alcatraz Island, tourists included. His demand is simple: one million dollars for every soldier who died unacknowledged, or San Francisco pays the price. While the Pentagon stalls for time, FBI chemical weapons expert Stanley Goodspeed and an elite Navy SEAL unit prepare to storm the island. The problem is that nobody knows how to get in. The only man who ever escaped Alcatraz, John Mason, has spent thirty years behind bars, and he is their only way inside. Pulled into the mission against his will, Mason faces the most dangerous job of his life. Directed by Michael Bay and starring Sean Connery, Nicolas Cage and Ed Harris, The Rock is a fast-paced, high-stakes action thriller.
