The Revenant

Hugh Glass is a seasoned trapper working for a company that hunts animals for their pelts. The wilderness he moves through, however, belongs to no one man - Native tribes and French soldiers roam the same forests. When a grizzly bear mauls him after a hunt, his own crew decides he is slowing them down and abandons him to die. But Glass knows this country better than anyone, and he refuses to go. His wounds close slowly, and there is a powerful reason keeping him alive. Academy Award-winning director Alejandro G. Iñárritu brings the legend of Hugh Glass to the screen in The Revenant. Set along the American frontier of the 19th century, this epic survival story pulls the audience into the strange beauty, mystery and danger of 1823. Beyond the raw instinct to stay alive, the film explores honour, justice, faith, home and family. Adapted from Michael Punke's novel The Revenant: A Novel of Revenge, it stars Leonardo DiCaprio in the leading role.
