The Notebook

The Notebook begins in a nursing home, where an elderly man known as Duke reads a love story from the faded pages of an old notebook. The story takes him back to 1940 and the summer when 17-year-old Allie Hamilton arrives with her family on Seabrook Island, South Carolina. There, she meets Noah, a young local man from a very different social and economic background. Despite the obstacles between them, the two quickly fall in love and share a summer they will never forget. Their happiness, however, is threatened by forces beyond their control. Family expectations and the growing conflict of World War II eventually drive Noah and Allie apart, forcing them to follow separate paths. As the years pass, the memories of their time together remain, raising the question of whether a love that strong can ever truly disappear. Starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, The Notebook is an emotional romantic drama about love, separation and the lasting impact of a relationship shaped by war and circumstances.
