Steel Magnolias

In 1980s Louisiana, a small beauty salon becomes the regular meeting place for a close-knit group of women whose lives are shaped by very different circumstances. Some have lost their husbands, others are dealing with troubled marriages, while some have yet to find someone to share their lives with. As they gather at the salon to escape their everyday troubles, they gradually become close friends who know each other's deepest secrets. Their conversations are rarely complete without a little gossip, which soon becomes one of their favorite pastimes. Within the walls of the modest salon, the women discover the friendship, understanding, and support they struggle to find elsewhere, sharing both the joyful and painful moments of their lives.
