Distress Signal centers on Linda Liddle, an employee so easily overlooked that no one at the company seems to notice she's there, and Bradley Preston, the insufferable boss she has to answer to. Her ordinary routine falls apart the moment their plane goes down and the two of them wash up on a deserted island as the only survivors. Stranded in a place with nothing welcoming about it, they have to find food, build shelter and work out some way off the island, which means relying on each other whether they like it or not. Old workplace resentments and unfinished arguments resurface almost immediately, and what should be a joint fight for survival turns into a contest of control and mistrust, with neither of them willing to be the first to give ground.
