Pete and Ellie are a loving couple who share a happy life together, but there is one thing they have always wanted: to become parents. When they decide to build a family through foster care and adoption, they initially hope to welcome a single child into their home. Everything changes when they meet three siblings and make the life-changing decision to adopt all of them. The oldest of the siblings is 15-year-old Lizzy, a rebellious teenager who keeps her emotions guarded and makes the transition into a new family especially challenging. Pete and Ellie suddenly find themselves raising three children and quickly discover that becoming parents is far more complicated than they ever imagined. As the five of them try to adjust to life together, they must overcome their differences and learn how to trust and understand one another. The complexities of the adoption system, endless paperwork, emotional struggles, and the children's difficult pasts create unexpected challenges for the couple. As they navigate the ups and downs of their new family life, Pete and Ellie begin to realize that becoming a family is not simply about bringing children into a home, but about building a bond strong enough to help everyone heal and grow together.
