Green Book

Set in 1962, the story follows renowned African American pianist Dr. Don Shirley and Tony Lip, the driver hired to accompany him on a concert tour across the United States. Living in the Bronx and recently out of work, Tony accepts the job when Dr. Shirley begins searching for someone reliable to drive him from Manhattan through the American South. As they travel through a country still deeply divided by racial prejudice, the two men encounter discrimination, danger, and unexpected acts of kindness. Tony relies on the Green Book, a guide that helps African American travelers find safe places to stop along their journey. Despite their contrasting backgrounds and personalities, the challenges they face gradually bring them closer together. Their journey becomes an opportunity to confront their own prejudices, discover the value of mutual understanding, and see the world from a different perspective.
