Companion

Companion is a darkly funny thriller about a weekend getaway that curdles into something far worse. When her boyfriend Josh invites her to a secluded lakeside estate to meet his circle of friends, Iris says yes without hesitation - a few days away from the city, good drinks, easy conversation, and a chance to finally fit in. At first the trip plays out exactly as promised. But beneath all the friendly small talk, something has already been set in motion, and the closer Iris gets to the truth being kept from her, the more the weekend curdles. The death of the wealthy man who owns the house sets off a chain reaction none of them can stop, turning the group against each other as everyone scrambles to protect themselves. Trapped in a house full of people she can no longer trust, Iris has to figure out how to survive on her own terms. Written and directed by Drew Hancock, the film stars Sophie Thatcher and Jack Quaid, with Lukas Gage, Megan Suri, Harvey Guillén, and Rupert Friend.
