Wild

After losing her beloved mother, Cheryl Strayed’s life spirals out of control. She turns to drugs, her marriage falls apart, and she finds herself caught in a cycle of self-destruction. Haunted by memories of her mother, Bobbi, and the weight of her past, she makes a sudden and radical choice: to strap on a backpack and hike the Pacific Crest Trail alone. Along one of America’s longest and toughest trails, she faces exhaustion, despair, and loneliness. But she also rediscovers something she thought she had lost, the simple feeling of being alive. Wild, starring Reese Witherspoon and directed by Jean-Marc Vallée of Dallas Buyers Club, is a moving story of recovery and renewal on the open trail.
