Rocky

Rocky Balboa is an amateur boxer from a modest Philadelphia neighborhood who fights in local clubs in his spare time. As preparations for the year’s biggest boxing event wrap up, the unbeatable champion Apollo Creed suddenly finds himself without an opponent. Looking for a publicity-friendly twist, Creed decides to offer an unknown amateur a shot at the title, and the name he picks is Rocky’s. Handed the chance of a lifetime, Rocky leans on the tough discipline of his trainer Mickey and the support of Adrian, the woman he loves, as he trains for the fight. Starring Sylvester Stallone, Rocky won over audiences around the world from the moment it premiered. It earned 10 Oscar nominations that same year, winning three, and went on to become a full-fledged franchise. For anyone who loves stories about grit and never giving up, it remains an unforgettable sports drama.
